Dear Fellow Council Members:
How fast the time is going! Our Annual Student Conference is just around the corner and our chapters are fully into their program year. We have a strong council and due to the strength of our member chapters. If I or any member of our council board can be of service to any chapter in our council please do not hesitate to ask. I want to make sure all of our chapters achieve their goals this year. My goal for our council remains achieving a Council Award of Excellence this year. We have some great programs in place and National Committee participation that should ensure this award for our council.
Our committees are very active preparing communications, our student conference, the professional development seminar, and our leadership training workshop for April. If you need to contact any committees the chairs are as follows: Education – Rick Sammons, Planning – John Engel, Communications – Nancy Fulks, Students – Ginger White, Hospitality – John Engel, Ad committee on Bylaw revision – Cathy Maness and Leadership Training (CLEW) – Bob Smith.
October 2003
With all the changes going on at the national level of IMA I encourage you to voice your concerns. Kinsey Jenkins would welcome your comments, I’m sure so he can pass them along. John Engel is also a resource as a member of the Planning Committee and Rudy McCue and Brian McGuire as part of the Executive Committee. Our council has never been afraid of expressing our opinions. I will try to keep you informed of any new developments, such as the changes to the annual conference activities.
Hats off to Ron Luther, Chuck Hartle and Teresa Hattabaugh for working so hard to ensure the success of the student conference. If I left anyone off the list I will make up for it next time. I hope to see you all either at the student conference or the council meeting, Saturday, November 8 in Indianapolis.
Sincerely,
Brenda Engel
