LTRC Committee Reports
Hospitality – John Engel – "We’re moving forward!" Some issues at New Orleans (size & cost of suite) are being looked at for improvements at San Diego. Other 3 councils were favorable & hopefully will join in with us again.

CMS – Only 2 chapters held CMS’ this year – Louisville & Michiana. Focus on the chapters that would benefit the most.

Communications – Newsletter (want to add Chapter calendar of events if chapters give to David, and the 2 National VP’s need to give us an update to include.) Roster Book (Motion made & approved to incur cost of up to $200 for printing. Trying to do for free, but may need some supplies. Electronic versions will be sent if requested) Website (Motion made & approved to bill chapters using the website annually with dues – one year in arrears. Currently, Council & 2 Chapters are on the site, other chapters are linked. 2 more chapters will be on soon, making the cost $290/5 or $58 per year for each of the 4 chapters & the council.)

Student Competition – Issues include: students never heard of IMA; chapter luncheon meetings conflict with student’s schedules & transportation issues; we should go to them vs. them having to come to us; get a student on chapter’s board to take news back to campus; high schools teaching bookkeeping vs. accounting; ask high school teachers to chapter meetings, especially the awards meetings for awareness. Martha to get a list of any chapter in our area that has been chartered as a student chapter & contact them and contact Sharon Lewis for any academic mentors in our area. Need to increase awareness of our competitions (national case study & scholarship, and our board position) on campus. Need to reach professors & academic mentors to reach the students. Focus on non-traditional, smaller schools. Move up our competition next Spring.

Education – Council wide professional development seminar being discussed for the day before our April LTRC meeting. Get names of suggested speakers to Chuck. Julie working on facilities.

Nominating – Open for suggestions & interest for next year’s board. Send e-mail to Paul Berrier.

Other – Indiana Dunes may be turning in their charter. Bill or Brenda to check with Connie to find contact & "recruit" to join our council.

Cathy Maness & John Engel working on the history of LTRC – in words AND pictures!

Rudy will take applications for Financial Executive of the Year, and is looking for committee volunteers.
