IMA Lincoln Trail Regional Council - Meeting Minutes
Date: April 21, 2001
The meeting was called to order by Bob Smith.
Doris Shaw – submitted the secretary’s report and the minutes were approved as corrected.
Treasurer’s Report – Presented and passed.
National Vice President’s Report – Julie Kern
Regional Directors’ Report
David Allen
Northern Kentucky – currently in 6th place.
Louisville – REAP May 21st. They have finished VITA. Currently in 3rd place. CMS will be May 12th at Public Bank Building (Jean Highway & 22).
Virgil Billiard
Bloomington – still doing well. Currently in 19th place.
Wabash Valley – no response.
Indianapolis – Board in place for next year. Planning session and CMS on May 18th. 2-4 people attending CMS in South Central. 2nd Thursday in May (5/10) they will be presenting the Executive of the Year. Currently in 31st place.
South Central – Ginger White has been chosen as the IMA student member of Lincoln Trail Regional Council. CMS will be April 28th, 10:00 am – 2:00 pm. They have finished up VITA. CMA review winding up. Currently in 4th place.
Michiana – still doing well. The CMS will be April 28th at Christine’s house from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm.
Indiana East – Currently 43rd place. Have the board in place for next year. Sherry Hampton will be President. Plan to send 3 people to CMS. Will be sending 9 students to the conference and 3-4 additional chapter members.
Fort Wayne – Matt has become the member of a task force with AccountTemps about students entering accounting in college. Getting involvement at the college and high school areas. Hopefully this will help the chapter grow. The current board is repeating next year.
North Central – Paid student membership for Fort Wayne student. Had a new person come to the meeting due to a newspaper ad and brought someone to the following meeting. They have decided to go another year. May 21st meeting to celebrate 25th year as chapter.
Bluegrass – Board is in place for next year. Working on ideas to grow membership. Website is ready, but will put into LTRC website – the address will be given out over egroups.
Evansville – National has not finalized the moneys from the REAP 3/2/01. Successfully completed the VITA program. 9 people are going to New Orleans. Currently in 1st place. They will attend the CMS in Louisville on May 12th. They had a meeting canceled this week so they lost some points.
National Committee Reports
Governance – Brian
They have met 3 times. Brian discussed what the committee was doing and its
purpose. They will be sending out a survey to gather additional information.
Looking for more accountability of the staff.
Ethics
Scholarship applicants are up 40% and the quality has improved.
Students:
Setting up a website for students. Trying to create a database of student
chapters. Developing a program to transition student members to regular members.
The golf outing in New Orleans will benefit student programs. There has been 3
student chapters established in Mexico. Looking at a program for internships to
partner smaller businesses with interns. Will be working with Robert Half on this.
Member Services
Looking at chapter structures (virtual chapters?). Mega chapter à
no local chapters. Any local chapters will have their own dues. There are no
changes in the competition for next year.
SCMS Committees
They will have their annual meeting in June.
Leadership Session
Lead by Chuck Hartle. Chuck will notify the chapters for the MPH’s.
Hospitality Committee
Collier Dawson with Tennessee Council will be getting the room. He was
waiting until tax season was over to get the room. Rudy said he would follow up
with Collier. We are sharing the suite with the Carolina’s, Tennessee, and
North Central Councils. The incoming national President is from the Carolina
Council. Weaver popcorn is sending bags of microwave popcorn to be giving away
Wednesday night. We will also have beads to give away. The cost will be $20 for
single, $40 and for family and $10 for students.
Website Status
The home page is currently up and running. A motion was made and passed to
send the bills to Brenda to reimburse Teresa her $70. Teresa passed out
information on the website. If anyone has any questions, please contact Teresa
at teresa.v.hattabaugh@cummins.com.
The cost of the website is $70 for 2 years for the registration. The monthly fee is $19.95. This cost does not go up no matter how many chapters participate. The chapters participating with LTRC on this website will split the cost. The more chapters participating on the website the cheaper the cost to the chapter.

Julie passed out the nomination of officers and it was passed. They are as follows:
Bob then turned the floor over to Bill Holland. Bill passed out the committee assignments for next year.
